Burbage Valley Walk : Saturday, 31st January 2026

The route includes Lower Burbage following the Sheffield Country Walk to Upper Burbage through the Burbage Valley.
 
This will enable us to take in the views of the surrounding Carl Wark Hill Fort and Higger Tor, Burbage Brook; Burbage Rocks; and the Wild Moorstones Quarry.

  • Distance: Approximately 5 miles

Meeting/Starting point:

Fox House Inn, Hathersage Rd, Longshaw, Sheffield S11 7TY

Access Information:

09:45 am bus from Sheffield

Bus from Sheffield Interchange – No. 272 
 
Bay – D2

Parking:

Free car parking at the Fox House Inn (park at your own risk) or Pay and display car park at Longshaw Estate (S11 7TZ) – approx 1 minute away from the Fox House Inn.

Return:

Return bus times to Sheffield: 2.03pm and 3.00pm

Equipment:

Please ensure you dress appropriately/take the necessary equipment with you for the group walk: 

  • wear comfortable walking shoes/boots (do not wear trainers)
  • cool/warm clothing depending on the weather 
  • waterproof coat/jacket
  • bring sun cream if necessary
  • bring a packed lunch/snacks and water
  • Your ICE card
    NOTE: You can download and fill in an ICE card if you do not already have one. It is important to bring it with you.
