A linear walk from Calver, following the Derwent Heritage Trail, to Chatsworth House; with return trip back to Calver/Sheffield by bus.
This is the final planned section walking along The Derwent Heritage Trail (replacing the cancelled walk from Thursday 13th August).
The walk starts from the bus stop in Calver (at the Calver Crossroads stop, near the Calver Arms) and follows the Derwent Heritage Trail to Chatsworth House. Once at Chatsworth there will be time for lunch, before catching the bus, from Chatsworth, back to Sheffield.

Meeting/Starting point:
Walk leaders will meet you at the bus stop in Calver (at the Calver Crossroads stop, near the Calver Arms).
Access Information:
Outward Bus from Sheffield: Sheffield Interchange, Stand D2, bus no. 65 towards Buxton, getting off at Calver.
Depart Sheffield Interchange at 9.35am. Arrival at Calver at 10.13am.
Parking:
There is some limited free parking along the side of Polly Froggatt Lane, near the bus stop, and also along the A625 leading north out of Calver.
Return:
Return bus to Sheffield: Departs Chatsworth at 12.52pm, 1.52pm and 2.52pm.
Equipment:
Please ensure you dress appropriately/take the necessary equipment with you for the group walk:
- wear comfortable walking shoes/boots (do not wear trainers)
- cool/warm clothing depending on the weather
- waterproof coat/jacket
- bring sun cream if necessary
- bring a packed lunch/snacks and plenty of water
- a rucksack to keep your hands free
- walking poles if you use them
- Your ICE card
NOTE: You can download and fill in an ICE card if you do not already have one. It is important to bring it with you.
