YHA Festival of Walking event: Saturday 20th September 2025, Castleton
Peak District Mosaic is hosting 3 group walks in Castleton, Peak District as part of the Youth Hostel Association festival of walking.

Date: Saturday, 20th September
Location: YHA Castleton (Losehill Hall)
Start time: 10.00am
Finish time: 3.00pm
There will be 3 group walks:
Distance 1 – 7.5 miles
Distance 2 – 6 miles
Distance 3 – 3 miles
All walks will start at Castleton YHA (Losehill Hall)
Cake and hot drinks will be provided at the YHA for all participants following the activities.
All participants will be required to complete an evaluation form after the event.
How to get there
Please arrive before 10.00am so we can start on time.
- Bus from Sheffield Interchange:8.30am
- Arrival in Castleton: 9.36am
FREE car parking available – Please ensure you report to reception and register your car in the book and on the tablet provided at reception.
- Please dress appropriately depending on the weather
- wear sturdy footwear/walking shoes or boots (do not wear trainers)
- wear cool/warm clothing depending on the weather
- waterproof coat/jacket
- Bring sun cream if necessary and a sun hat
- Bring a packed lunch/snacks and water
- Bring your ICE card
- NOTE: You can download and fill in an ICE card if you do not already have one. It is important to bring it with you.
